Job summary

NACOG is seeking a dedicated Child Care Assistant to support continuity of care for enrolled children. Under direct supervision, you will supervise classrooms, assist with meals, and help implement developmentally appropriate activities in alignment with program standards.

You will collaborate with the supervising Teacher on lesson plans, monitor child progress, ensure safety, and adhere to required licenses and training. This role offers growth within a supportive team at NACOG.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; a strong interest in working directly with children up to age five, and successful completion of training and orientation.
• Preference: Six months of experience in early childcare in a licensed facility.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes families daily, maintains attendance, and engages parents to participate in program activities.
• Supervises children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring health and safety.
• Assists with lesson development and language, cognitive, and social-emotional activities.
• Completes required documentation and complies with mandatory child abuse reporting procedures.
• Assists with food preparation, serving meals, sanitization, and food storage.
• Supports family-style meals and nutritional practices.
• Assists with screenings and parent/teacher conferences to ensure regulatory compliance.
