Job summary

Special Education District of Lake County (SEDOL) seeks a Paraprofessional for the Early Childhood Program at Millburn Elementary. This full-time position runs for the 26/27 school year, ASAP start.

Qualifications include Illinois State Board of Education Paraprofessional Approval; no experience required but beneficial. The paraprofessional will support the teacher, assist in small groups, manage behavior, and help with materials, data, and daily activities.

Qualifications

• A. No experience is required, but would be beneficial.
• B. Applicant must have the Illinois State Board of Education Paraprofessional Approval.
• C. If a particular position requires a unique skill, the new employee will be required to possess that skill or be trained by the employer.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in implementing students' educational and social/emotional goals.
• Supervise students in small groups under teacher oversight.
• Assist with program and behavior management implementation.
• Assist in record keeping, preparing materials, and data collection.
• Help with loading/unloading buses, toileting, lunch, recess, snacks and self-help skills.
