Job summary

Cambridge Public Schools is seeking a Pre-School Teacher (SC) for the Peabody School/Office of Student Services in Cambridge, MA. This role delivers explicit, play-based instruction to preschoolers with diverse needs, using the Focus Curriculum and IEPs.

The candidate will collaborate with families, behavior specialists, and a multidisciplinary team, implement assessments, write goals, and maintain records in compliance with state and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education required.
• MA Certification: Moderate/Severe Disabilities in pk-8 required.
• Willingness to be trained and certified in SafetyCare.
• Experience in early childhood.
• Collaborate with program lead and behavior specialist.
• Knowledge of AAC and assistive technology.
• Fully knowledgeable in the IEP process.
• Strong communication with families and staff.
• Experience delivering professional development.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs with measurable goals.
• Write and facilitate IEP team meetings.
• Administer and interpret formal and informal assessments.
• Monitor student progress through data collection.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
• Support student inclusion opportunities and collaborate with related service providers.
• Supervise paraprofessionals and coordinate with staff.
• Communicate with families through conferences, progress reports, and planning meetings.
• Participate in professional development and curriculum planning.
• Assist with toileting needs and related duties as assigned.
