Job summary

General Building Paraprofessional participates in instructional program activities as a member of the instructional team under the guidance of the teacher at Marshall Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year.

Compensation starts at $16.25/hour or $17.25/hour for self-contained positions, with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid sick and personal time, holidays, IMRF, 403(b) plan and EAP.

Qualifications

• Requires thirty college credit hours and passing the state paraprofessional test.
• Experience supporting early childhood instruction is preferred.
• Ability to assist with classroom materials and recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible to and work under the guidance of the Early Childhood classroom teacher.
• Prepare materials for class activities.
• Assist teacher in the setup and maintenance of the classroom including cleaning of materials.
• Complete recordkeeping tasks at the teacher's discretion.
• Engage in direct interaction and instruction with children in the Pre-K curriculum.
• Assist with IEP-related instruction and bus loading/unloading.
• Supervise health and safety, including toileting and diapering.
• Assist with planning family activities and home visits when appropriate.
