Job summary

Springfield Public Schools in Western Massachusetts seeks Classroom Para Educators to assist teachers in delivering a high-quality education program designed to meet the needs of all children. You will work with staff to create an inclusive educational environment by providing instructional assistance, classroom support, and implementing effective classroom strategies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 60 college credits or an Associate's degree, or passing standardized assessments (ParaPro or WorkKeys).
• Authorized to work in the United States by first day of employment.
• Ability to support students with diverse needs and behavioral management.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings.
• Provides assistance with classroom activities.
• Prepares instructional materials.
• Manages individual and classroom behavior.
• Supervises students on field trips.
• Performs other duties as requested by Building Principal.
