The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire seeks an Associate Teacher Qualified in Laconia, NH. The role supports children and teachers, maintains health and safety, and helps document observations to inform curriculum planning.

Qualifications

• Must be an associate teacher qualified (High school diploma and a minimum of 9 credits) in child development and/ or early childhood education.
• Must be 18 years of age or older and have a minimum of 1,500 hours working in aschool-age licensed program.
• Knowledge of current methods, principles, and techniques of teaching.
• Knowledge of curriculum development and application.
• Ability to plan and implement quality programs; proven track record of creative and artistic teaching strategies.
• Ability to form developmentally appropriate relationships with children and promote positive behavior.
• Ability to motivate members and manage behavior problems with patience.
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• Ability to communicate with staff, families, and community members in a variety of methods.
• Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications per Bureau of Childcare licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Youth for Success: Create an environment for Youth Development Outcomes.
• Respond to the interests and needs of individual children; interact positively and encourage exploration.
• Plan curriculum to meet individual needs of youth with emergent curriculum elements.
• Ensure health and safety of all members and track outcome metrics.
• Maintain accurate observation records to support curriculum planning.
• Oversee and maintain program goals; ensure safety, compliance, and best practices.
• Supervise staff, volunteers, practicum students; provide feedback on performance.
