Job summary

LaRue County Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant (Preschool) to support teachers with classroom procedures in Hodgenville. The role involves preparing teaching materials, operating classroom equipment, and assisting with small group instruction and routines.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and two years of college (or equivalent) and be able to handle attendance, reports, and basic health/safety needs of children in a preschool setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus two years of college or higher.
• Ability to assist in reading readiness, writing readiness and math readiness.
• Willingness to work under teacher supervision and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Score objective type test results.
• Prepare copies, transparencies and instructional materials.
• Operate instructional equipment like projectors and copiers.
• Type and file correspondence and reports.
• Supervise library, playground and lunch activities.
• Assist with bulletin boards, displays and media use.
• Assist attendance records, lunchroom reports and announcements.
• Support small group instruction, tutoring, reading and math activities.
• Handle minor injuries and ensure pupil safety.
• Perform housekeeping tasks to keep classroom orderly.
• Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
