Job summary

Brenham Independent School District in Brenham, TX seeks an Early Childhood Learning Center Paraprofessional (Instructional) to support certified staff in classrooms and assist with student learning. You will reinforce reading, language arts, math, and computer instruction, work with students individually or in small groups, and help with assessments and materials preparation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college coursework or passing of NCLB required.
• Experience with students with special needs desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist professional staff in administration and correction of classroom exercises and assessments.
• Assist in classroom preparations and materials for instructional activities.
• Assist with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
• Assist with classroom behavioral management to maintain a safe, orderly environment.
• Supervise non-instructional areas such as lunch, bus duty, playground, and study hall.
• Accompany students on field trips to support supervision.
• Assist with parent contact to foster involvement in student education.
• Assist students with special needs to maximize inclusion and achievement.
