Omaha Public Schools King Elementary in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking a Paraprofessional for Early Childhood Special Education. This temporary, part-time role starts January 2027 for the 2nd semester and involves assisting in classrooms under the teacher's direction.

Responsibilities include supporting individual or small-group activities, preparing materials, and helping with transitions, toileting, and self-care tasks.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or completion of 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours at an institution of higher learning.
• Willingness to complete early childhood education coursework.
• Knowledge of the Head Start Performance Standards, preferred.
• Must lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to interact physically with children and manage movements.

Responsabilités

• Work with children individually or in small groups under teacher direction.
• Assist with bulletin boards, prepare materials, and other classroom duties.
• Assist children in arts and crafts activities.
• Support students during transitions in and out of ECSE classroom.
• Observe and record behavior and assist with teacher-recommended strategies.
• Help students with toileting and self-care tasks and dressing.
