Reports To: State & Federal Coordinator
Beginning: 10/19/2026
Hours: 32 hours per week
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development (CDA) or related field preferred.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare or early childhood setting preferred.
- Ability to implement developmentally appropriate practices and follow established lesson plans.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and teaching styles.
- Must pass background checks and meet health/safety clearance requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide classroom coverage for lead and/or associate teachers during absences.
- Support the implementation of daily lesson plans, routines, and activities as directed.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist children with transitions, self-help skills, meals, rest time, and outdoor play.
- Use positive behavior guidance strategies to support children's social-emotional development.
- Maintain consistent routines and reinforce classroom expectations to provide stability for students.
- Communicate effectively with classroom staff, site supervisor, and program director regarding classroom needs and student progress.
- Follow licensing regulations, GSRP requirements, and district policies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development as requested.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
- Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
- Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; those activities where detailed or import spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
- Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- The worker is subject to environmental conditions.
- The worker should provide consistent and reliable in person attendance.
