West Ottawa Public Schools is seeking a GSRP Early Childhood Floater Substitute to cover classrooms as needed. This role supports lead and associate teachers and helps implement daily lessons while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

The position requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to collaborate with staff, follow approved lesson plans, and communicate effectively about student progress. Posting #4136, 32 hours per week, beginning 10/19/2026.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development (CDA) or related field preferred.
• Experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare or early childhood setting preferred.
• Ability to implement developmentally appropriate practices and follow established lesson plans.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and teaching styles.
• Must pass background checks and meet health/safety clearance requirements.

Responsabilités

• Provide classroom coverage for lead and/or associate teachers during absences.
• Support the implementation of daily lesson plans, routines, and activities as directed.
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assist children with transitions, self-help skills, meals, rest time, and outdoor play.
• Use positive behavior guidance strategies to support children's social-emotional development.
• Maintain consistent routines and reinforce classroom expectations to provide stability for students.
• Communicate effectively with classroom staff, site supervisor, and program director regarding classroom needs and student progress.
• Follow licensing regulations, GSRP requirements, and district policies.
• Participate in ongoing professional development as requested.
