Job summary

West Ottawa Public Schools seeks a Long-Term Substitute GSRP Teacher at Lakeshore Elementary. Begin 09/21/2026 through 11/20/2026, report to the Lakeshore Elementary School Principal.

The Substitute will plan and deliver early childhood instruction using Creative Curriculum and Pyramid Practices for prekindergarten students. Requirements include a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or child development (or valid Michigan ECE ZA/ZS certificate), CPR/First Aid, and EDUStaff

Qualifications

  • Must be registered with EDUStaff, LLC.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications current.
  • Familiarity with research-based preschool curriculum and state standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and instruct early childhood for prekindergarten using Creative Curriculum and Pyramid Practices.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit student needs.
  • Continue professional knowledge through seminars, workshops, or professional development meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


  • Daily Sub rates apply

  • Must be registered with EDUStaff, LLC

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching. Alternatively, a valid Michigan teaching certificate with an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special Education (ZS) endorsement

  • Hold current certifications in CPR and First Aid. (Will provide training)

  • Willingness to complete all health and safety requirements as mandated by LARA licensing by the State of Michigan.

  • Prior teaching experience with preschool-aged children, especially those considered at-risk, is preferred. Familiarity with research-based preschool curriculum and knowledge of Michigan's Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Pre-


Responsibilities


  • Responsible for lesson planning and instruction of early childhood for prekindergarten students utilizing the Creative Curriculum and Pyramid Practices

  • Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit student needs.

  • Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learning of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, or professional development meetings.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • The worker should provide consistent and reliable, and in-person attendance.
