Job summary

Seagull Schools in Honolulu, HI is seeking a dedicated early childhood teacher to nurture young learners and deliver age-appropriate curriculum in a safe, inclusive environment. You will collaborate with families and staff to support each child’s growth and report to the Center Director.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning, health and safety practices, and strong communication. Candidates should meet Hawaii DHS standards, possess relevant degrees or credentials, and be able to lift up to 35

Qualifications

• Meet State of Hawaii DHS qualification standards for Teacher.
• Bachelor or associate level degrees with relevant ECE credentials.
• CPR/First Aid certification and safety training required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with standards.
• Promote physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth through play-based activities.
• Foster a positive classroom environment and train/evaluate assistants and volunteers.
• Maintain substitute plans and assist with toileting and diapering in age-appropriate classrooms.
• Observe and assess children’s progress and support those with varying abilities.
• Communicate regularly with families about progress and concerns through Seagull Schools tools.
• Maintain attendance records and prepare progress reports as required.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and supervise activities.

BA in elementary education + 6 months preschool exp + 6 ECE credits
