Job summary

The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville seeks an Early Childhood Educator – Classroom Teacher (Teaching Associate) to design and implement developmentally appropriate, emergent, and play‑based curricula for children aged 8 weeks to 5 years at the Jean Tyson Child Development Study Center.

This regular, day-shift position requires an associate degree in ECE or related field, with at least two years of experience with young children; a BA in a related field and knowledge of the NAEYC

Qualifications

• Associate degree in early childhood education or closely related field.
• Demonstrated 2+ years of experience with young children.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement developmentally appropriate, emergent, and play‑based curriculum for children aged 8weeks to 5years.
• Follow licensing requirements and model nationally recommended practices for children, colleagues, university students, families, and visitors.
• Document and communicate child development through assessment, learning artifacts, weekly journals, parent–teacher conferences, and classroom portfolios.
• Model and mentor new teaching staff, including part‑time employees, undergraduate students, and aides.
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance and foster collegial, harmonious working relationships.
