Job description

East 10th Children & Youth Center is now hiring a Full-Time Early Childhood Educator to work in our NAEYC-accredited center! We are an Early Head Start Child Care Partner and a Level 4 Paths to Quality Provider on the Near Eastside of Indianapolis, seeking passionate and energetic educators with strong communication skills to join our team.

Applicants will be responsible for providing developmentally appropriate learning experiences for the children and planning creative and engaging activities that promote the development of the whole child. Applicants will be responsible for providing a nurturing, clean, and organized classroom environment. Experience with Creative Curriculum and Conscious Discipline is helpful.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a minimum of a CDA or an Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education. Classroom experience preferred. Applicant must have strong written and oral communication skills. Strong relationship-building skills with both parents and children required.

Responsibilities and Duties

Position Summary:

The Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of children and assisting with the academic, physical, and social-emotional development of all children in their care, which may include infant, toddler, and/or preschool-aged children in a teamwork-based setting. The Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for ensuring compliance with codes of all state and local governing agencies, as well as Paths to Quality, NAEYC, Early Head Start, and all East Tenth UMCYC policies and procedures.

Education:

High School Diploma & CDA required. Associate's or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.

Pay:

$15.00 - $20.00 per hour
