Lyndon Institute seeks an Early Childhood Education Educator to lead a two-year program that prepares high school students for careers in early childhood education through college coursework, credentials, supervised field experiences, and a professional portfolio.
You will focus on students' professional growth, guiding them to operate a care center, coordinating field practicums, and connecting coursework with real-world practice on campus and in partner settings.
Students in this program move from observing to exploring, from assisting to teaching, and from classroom learning to professional practice. Lyndon Institute is looking for the educator who takes them there.
We are hiring an Early Childhood Education Educator to lead a two-year program that prepares high school students for careers in early childhood education through college level coursework, industry recognized credentials, supervised field experience, and a professional portfolio. If you work with young children, you are an educator, and this program helps students claim that title. Vermont needs them, because too many of the state’s youngest children still lack access to the quality care they need.
The program is entering its third year and has a real home in the early childhood hub right on our campus. The person in this role helps shape what comes next. You will focus heavily on the professional growth of your students, teaching them not only how to guide children, but how to manage and operate a care center of their own. Working alongside our work based learning coordinator, you will help connect students to powerful work based learning opportunities, create tighter links between coursework and daily practice, and build clear routes from graduation into credentials and careers. You will help guide the next phase of early childhood education and care at Lyndon Institute.
A living learning lab on campus
Northeast Kingdom Community Action (NEKCA) runs a Family Resource Center on the Lyndon Institute campus. It is both a child care center and a family resource center. Alongside classroom care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, NEKCA offers home visiting, playgroups, parent support, early intervention, and essential needs assistance. That makes it far more than a placement site. Our students learn how a whole center operates and how it serves a whole family: how children are cared for, how families are welcomed and supported, and how a team holds all of it together. You will turn that daily reality into a curriculum.
