Job description

Early Childhood Education - Infant Teacher
  • Part-time

A Mother's Touch Child Development Center is recognized in the State of NC as a 4 Star Center, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, caring for children from 6 weeks to 15 months of age. We offer programs, services, and educational enrichments similar to larger daycare facilities, but in a home environment that is familiar and relaxing for young children. Our small size allows us to provide personalized and individual attention for every child in our care. We have been operating since January 2000, serving a diverse group of families and needs.

We are seeking a seasoned Infant Teacher with at least 12 semester hours in Early Childhood Education. Preferably, candidates should have 2 years of experience and knowledge of this particular age group.

Must have a current qualification letter, SIDS Certificate, and TB Test completed.

Infant Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a routine to ensure a healthy learning environment, working within the class schedule.
  • Proactively prepare materials and set up equipment.
  • Revise lesson materials with students individually or in small groups.
  • Ensure the classroom environment is safe and clean.
  • Oversee students during non-classroom times, including in-between classes and during lunch.
  • Collaborate with lead teachers to identify issues students face and recommend solutions.
  • Document student progress and communicate with parents regularly.
  • Comply with all relevant rules and regulations.
  • Attend training sessions, parent conferences, and faculty meetings.

Teacher Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • CDA.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a teaching assistant or similar role.
  • Solid understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices.
  • Compassionate and positive attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to benefit from training and supervision.
  • Effective communication with children, parents, and support personnel.
  • Sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences.
