The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a part-time licensed child and family therapist to work with at-risk children in a dynamic healthcare environment. This role involves assessing and providing clinical care while using specialized treatment models. Candidates must be licensed to practice in North Carolina with relevant experience and therapies in child mental health.
Approximately 20 hours per week; primarily afternoons on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Position Summary
UNC Horizons is seeking a part-time licensed child and family therapist to work afternoons (M-Th; typically 2-6PM) as needed in the Chapel Hill area. Child therapist will work with current Child Therapist/Supervisor to assess and treat at-risk children ages 3-11. We use a dyadic treatment model, so familiarity with dyadic interventions is preferred, such as Child Parent Psychotherapy, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up, TFCBT , etc. Hours will vary based on case load but approximately 5-20 hours per week.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services discipline with coursework related to the area of assignment. Some positions may require certification to practice as a certified or licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Therapist must be fully licensed ( LCMHC , LCSW , etc.) with experience working with at-risk children ages birth 3-11. Preferences for training in evidence-based modalities, such as TF- CBT , Circle of Security Parenting, Child Parent Psychotherapy, and Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Knowledge of or interest in gender-specific substance abuse treatment is preferred; Experience working with justice-involve individuals, maternal/child health, child mental health, and substance use treatment.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Must be able to ascend/descend stairs. Duties to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
