Job summary

NYU Langone Health’s Family Health Centers is hiring an Early Childhood Specialist to unify curricular practices across programs under the guidance of the Director of Early Childhood Services. This role involves coaching teachers, providing professional development, and coordinating Special Education services with program directors.

Minimum qualifications include a MSED in Early Childhood Education and NYS Teacher Certification.

Qualifications

• MSED in Early Childhood Education is required.
• Teacher certification in the early childhood or childhood grades is required.
• A Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the implementation of standards across all early childhood programs.
• Observe classroom environments, instruction, interactions, and overall tone.
• Provide written and verbal feedback to teachers and directors to improve instructional practices and program quality.
• Work with teachers to define individual goals for children and plan instructional strategies.
• Support teachers in identifying age-appropriate group goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and directors to determine professional development needs.
• Coordinate PD opportunities for teachers, directors, substitutes, and families.
• Meet with staff to review observations, create work plans, and set professional goals.

Education

MSED in Early Childhood Education

Teacher Certification in EC or childhood grades

Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education
