JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Child Care Center at Hort Woods, on the University Park campus, is seeking a candidate for an Early Childhood Development Educator (working with children 3 - 5 years old) committed to creating and providing high-quality learning environments for young children and families.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

1. Supporting and maintaining high-quality classroom standards in a laboratory setting
2. Coordinating and implementing an innovative curriculum model with a team of colleagues
3. Establishing and maintaining respectful and cooperative relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and families
4. Providing oversight and training of interns and student teachers in early childhood education undergraduate programs
5. Maintaining standards in accordance with NAEYC accreditation and PA Keystone STARS 4 quality standards

This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience. It will be filled at the Intermediate Professional level.

This position requires:

• PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Fingerprint Criminal Background Check, and NSOR
• A health physical with TB test prior to starting
• Additional clearances if residing outside Pennsylvania in the past five years
