Sunny Hollow Montessori is growing! We are excited to welcome an Early Childhood Coordinator in the 2025-2026 school year.

Work Location: This is a full time, onsite position. Remote work is not available.

Position Summary

The Early Childhood Coordinator ensures the Montessori Toddler and Primary programs' smooth operation, consistency, and quality (ages 16 months to 6 years). This role includes supervising guides and assistants, supporting students and families, leading professional development, and aligning educational practices with Montessori philosophy, school policies, and regulatory standards.

Required Education & Experience

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• AMS or AMI Montessori credential (Infant/Toddler and/or Early Childhood) required.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of Montessori classroom experience; leadership or coaching experience preferred.

Certifications & Competencies:

• Demonstrated ability to coach adults (preferably using National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector tools) and support child development across domains.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Faculty Support and Development

• Support and supervise the Toddler and Primary guides and assistants; provide feedback aligned with Montessori pedagogy, Sunny Hollow policies and procedures, DHS Rule 3, and strategic goals.
• Facilitate monthly Toddler and Primary level meetings to foster cohesion and shared practices across classrooms.
• Support onboarding, ongoing professional development, and performance evaluations of early childhood faculty.

Curriculum and Program Oversight

• Ensure fidelity to the Montessori curriculum, including materials and prepared environments, with an emphasis on inclusion.
• Contribute to the development of programmatic milestones aligned with AMS accreditation standards and the “Portrait of the Sunny Hollow Graduate” faculty committee initiative.
• Promote consistency in student and family experience through regular classroom communication (e.g., newsletters, photo sharing).
• Coordinate transitions from the Toddler to Casa program, and from Casa to Elementary program.

Student and Family Support

• Serve as a resource to faculty and families for Tier 1 developmental and behavioral concerns.
• Coordinate family education for the Toddler and Casa programs.
• Adhere to Sunny Hollow’s Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework, including participation in the Child Study process.

School Leadership and Compliance

• Collaborate with leadership on AMS accreditation, DHS licensing, Parent Aware rating, and compliance with early childhood regulations.
• Assist in the development and refinement of policies and procedures for the early childhood level.
• Support school-wide events and communications, serving as an ambassador for Montessori early childhood education.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit on the floor and engage with young children at their level.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds (e.g., children or classroom materials).
• Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, or crouching for extended periods.
• Comfortable navigating indoor and outdoor environments (e.g., accompanying children to the playground).

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional Montessori school environment and may require working in classrooms, offices, and outdoor spaces. The role regularly interacts with children, faculty, and families and may be exposed to noise and active play typical of early childhood settings.
