Job summary

Wayne-Metropolitan Community Action Agency is seeking a classroom assistant to support daily programming in a Head Start-style setting. You will assist in planning activities, help children with learning tasks, and support a safe, welcoming classroom environment for children and their families.

The role requires an Associates in Early Childhood or CDA credential (or enrollment in a CDA program to complete within a year).

Qualifications

• Associates in Early Childhood/Child Development preferred or currently pursuing.
• CDA credential or in CDA program to be completed within one year.
• Program requires ability to learn and use basic office and classroom software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning daily programming under supervision of the program manager/teacher.
• Participate in development of daily lesson plans.
• Assist children in need of special attention and care.
• Maintain a safe, inviting environment for children and parents.
• Direct classroom activities for large and small groups as assigned.
