Job summary

Mid Michigan Community Action Agency is seeking an Associate Teacher to assist in delivering a developmentally appropriate program for eligible children. The role includes coordinating with management, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting families in setting goals.

You will help with daily activities, meal supervision, transportation assistance, and documentation, while fostering a safe, engaging learning environment and collaborating with staff and community partners.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Have a high school diploma/GED and experience with young children
• Family Service Credential within 18 months of hire or first session offered thereafter
• Complete 16 hours of annual training plus CPR, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen training

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing a developmentally appropriate program for eligible children
• Ensure quality program service delivery
• Protect the privacy of customers/families and maintain confidentiality
• Take attendance of children at mealtimes
• Assist in serving and supervising meals and transportation of children
• Ensure the safety and well-being of every child in care
• Engage families in program activities and goal setting
• Maintain a safe, developmentally appropriate classroom environment
• Complete required program documentation accurately and timely
• Recruit families and promote agency programs within the community
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and community events
• All other duties as assigned
