Job summary

Child Start, Inc. in El Dorado is seeking a Classroom Aide to support Head Start 0-5 children, assist the teacher with records, meals, and supervision, and help with CACFP paperwork.

You will help prepare materials, observe children, support families, and participate in screenings and progress updates with parents. A High School diploma is required with a plan to pursue CDA/related degree.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, willing to begin an education plan to obtain CDA or an Associate degree.
• A love for teaching and the ability to build a trusting relationship with students, teachers and parents.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds for various classroom and event needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Start teacher with classroom records and documentation.
• Support meals, snacks, and supervise meals in a family-style setting.
• Assist with CACFP paperwork and related compliance.
• Observe children at arrival and report unusual circumstances to EC Manager.
• Prepare classroom materials for scheduled activities.
• Support screenings in developmental, speech, and behavior areas.
• Assist with infants' feeding and supervision as assigned.
• Help with attendance tracking and progress notes for parents.
• Support home visits and school conferences.
