Job summary

Child Start Inc. is seeking a Classroom Aide to support Head Start 0-5 classrooms in El Dorado, KS. You will assist the teacher with record-keeping, meals, and activities, while helping with CACFP paperwork and family involvement.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and are willing to pursue a CDA or an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and commute daily to El Dorado.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, willing to begin an education plan to obtain a CDA credential or an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education.
• Love for teaching and the ability to build a trusting relationship with students, teachers and parents.

Responsibilities

• Observe children on arrival and report unusual circumstances to EC Manager.
• Assist with classroom materials and meals supervision.
• Support CACFP paperwork and attendance.
• Assist with fluoride administration and record which children have received fluoride.
• Support and encourage families to be actively involved in the program.
• Assist with home visits and school conferences.
