Job summary

TemPositions Group of Companies is recruiting an Early Childhood Director for a nonprofit program site in New York. The role ensures safe operation, educational enrichment, and a welcoming environment for families while supporting center staff.

The position requires a Master's in Early Childhood Education with NYS certification, plus 5+ years teaching and 2+ years in a supervisory role, with knowledge of ACS/DOE funded programs and CACFP guidelines. Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in early childhood education with NYS Certification required
• Experience with ACS/DOE funded Day Care/Head Start and DOE UPK programs preferred
• Minimum of five years teaching in early childhood classrooms
• Two+ years in ECE supervisory/management role
• MAT certification preferred
• Knowledge of DOE UPK, Day Care and Early Learn policies and procedures
• Knowledge of CACFP guidelines
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Spanish language skills preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe operation and educational enrichment of the center.
• Provide a welcoming information point for parents and support for site staff.
• Monitor classrooms to support staff in delivering age-appropriate curriculum.
• Assist educators in developing lesson plans and individual plans for children.
• Maintain daily records for children, staff attendance, and food service.
• Develop and follow schedules to meet activity expectations.
• Observe safety protocols in all areas of the center and outdoors.
• Keep records for regulatory audits and site visits up-to-date.
• Participate in planning for the Early Childhood Education department.
• Attend departmental and agency training sessions.
• Other tasks as needed
