Job summary

The Learning Experience is seeking an Area Manager to oversee multiple schools in the assigned region, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence. You will coach Center Directors, drive enrollment and retention, and manage staff performance across sites.

In this role, you will analyze P&L, budgets, and KPIs, lead strategic initiatives, partner with Marketing, and support new openings. Travel is expected within the territory and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Early childhood education experience in a licensed childcare environment is required.
• Experience leading multiple sites/district operations preferred.
• Experience coaching and developing multi-site leadership teams.
• Strong understanding of childcare operations, licensing, and compliance.
• Ability to analyze P&L, budgets, KPIs, and business performance.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and transportation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all assigned schools meet health and safety standards and franchise standards.
• Achieve KPIs at area and school levels, including enrollment, retention, staffing, and payroll percentage.
• Conduct regular onsite visits and coach Center Directors.
• Drive enrollment, retention, staffing, and family experience while improving operational performance.
• Analyze financials and scorecard results; implement action plans for underperforming schools.
• Support recruiting, training, and retention with Talent Acquisition; align with Core Values.
• Support licensing visits, audits, and corrective action plans.
• Partner with Marketing to strengthen enrollment and local market performance.
• Assist new school openings and operational readiness in the area.
• Address parent concerns and escalate when needed.

The Area Manager ensures every School in their assigned area is safe, full, profitable, well-led, and meeting or exceeding Key Performance Indicators. They coach and develop Center Directors through regular onsite visits, drive enrollment, retention, staffing, and family experience, and hold each School accountable to its scorecard.

Position Requirements

• Early childhood education experience in a licensed childcare environment required.
• 5+ years of multi-unit, district, franchise, or field operations leadership experience preferred.
• Experience coaching and developing multi-site leadership teams.
• Strong understanding of childcare operations, licensing, and compliance.
• Ability to analyze P&L statements, budgets, KPIs, and business performance.
• Strong business acumen, problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Bachelor's degree in business, education, or a related field preferred.
• Must reside within the assigned area (Colorado or Tennessee) and be able to travel approximately 85% locally and throughout the region.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures all assigned Schools meet or exceed NVK and TLE Health and Safety Standards, in compliance with state licensing and TLE franchise standards.
• Accountable for meeting or exceeding KPIs at the Area and School level:
  • Utilization
  • Student Retention
  • Staff Turnover
  • Payroll Percentage
  • Lead to Tour Conversion
• Conducts regular onsite visits and coaches Center Directors and School leadership teams.
• Drives enrollment, retention, staffing, family experience, and operational performance.
• Analyzes P&L statements, labor, enrollment, revenue, and weekly scorecard results; implements support conversations and action plans with underperforming Schools.
• Coaches and develops Center Directors to Core Values; supports recruiting, training, and retention in partnership with Talent Acquisition.
• Supports licensing visits, operational reviews, Self-Inspection audits, and corrective action plans.
• Partners with Marketing and other teams to strengthen enrollment and local market performance.
• Supports new School openings and operational readiness within the area.
• Addresses parent concerns with care and escalates to the Regional Manager when needed.
