Job summary

Bright Horizons is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our Asheville, NC center. This full-time role includes supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and supporting children across infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Work hours extend to 6pm as needed.

You will participate in hands-on activities, communicate milestones to families, and help maintain a safe classroom while following Bright Horizons policies. State background checks are required, with education and experience preferences noted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in child care, daycare, or preschool preferred.
• CDA/Associate/Bachelor’s in early education or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of the children.
• Maintain open communication with parents, sharing their child’s daily milestones.
• Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines.
• Fulfill mandated reporter requirements and report suspected cases of abuse/neglect to the appropriate State agency.
• Provide support in any classroom or age group where teaching coverage is needed across the center.
