Bright Horizons is hiring an Assistant Teacher in the Asheville area to support infants, toddlers, and preschoolers on a full-time basis. You will assist with hands-on activities, maintain open communication with families, and help ensure a safe, clean classroom aligned with Bright Horizons’ policies.

The role requires compliance with state and company background checks, with preference for candidates holding a CDA or higher in early education.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings is preferred.
• CDA, Associate, or bachelor’s degree in early education or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hands‑on activities to meet the needs and interests of the children
• Maintain open communication with parents, sharing their child's daily milestones
• Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines
• Fulfill mandated reporter requirements as defined by the appropriate State agency, including reporting any suspected cases of child abuse or neglect to the agency and informing the director
• Provide support in any classroom or age group where teaching coverage is needed across a center
