Job summary

SCO Family of Services in Brooklyn is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the development and delivery of the education program for young children. You will work closely with the classroom teacher to ensure activities are developmentally appropriate and aligned with children’s needs.

Responsibilities include planning and implementing lessons, maintaining classroom data, collaborating with families, and participating in trainings to support both child growth and program goals.

Qualifications

• Highschool or GED required.
• Early childhood experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to planning and coordination of the education program.
• Support the teacher to ensure the program is developmentally appropriate.
• Assist in planning and implementing early learning experiences across multiple domains.
• Assist in planning and implementing individual education plans for children.
• Maintain a developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Enter and maintain classroom and child data.
• Collaborate with teaching team to review data and plan actions with the Education Director.
• Engage families to promote children's goals and development.
• Participate in trainings and coaching cycles for professional growth.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
