Job summary

SCO Family of Services in New York is seeking an Education Program Assistant to support planning and delivery of a comprehensive early education program for children. You will assist the classroom teacher in ensuring age-appropriate experiences across literacy, language, math, science, social studies, arts, PE, and languages, while developing individual plans.

Collaborate with families and staff, enter classroom data, participate in trainings, and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Early childhood experience preferred.
• Must communicate effectively and professionally.
• Advanced command of English grammar and writing.
• Ability to meet deadlines and stay organized.
• Experience in multicultural environments serving vulnerable populations preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, implementation and coordination of the education program.
• Assist in ensuring developmentally appropriate programming for children.
• Support teachers in providing early learning experiences across literacy, language, math, sciences, social studies, physical education, arts and languages.
• Assist in planning and implementing individual educational plans for children.
• Maintain a developmentally appropriate classroom environment and data.
• Meet with teachers and Education Director to review data and support goals.
• Collaborate with families to promote children's goals, communication and health habits.
• Participate in trainings, coaching, and professional development.
