You will ensure compliance with Head Start standards and NMCAA policies while fostering a safe, engaging classroom environment. The role requires CDA or equivalent credentials and enrollment in an ECE/CD degree program, with willingness to complete a CDA credential within two years of hire.

Qualifications

• Have a CDA credential or state-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds CDA requirements.
• Enrolled in a program leading to an associate or bachelor’s degree in ECE or CD.
• CDA credential program to be completed within two years of time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Promote school readiness by enhancing children's development through educational, health, nutritional, and social services.
• Comply with Head Start standards, the Head Start Act, MI Leap-Child Care Licensing requirements, USDA-CACFP, and NMCAA policies.
• Provide a developmentally appropriate classroom environment using Creative Curriculum and School Readiness Goals.
• Conduct screenings with GOLD assessments and use CLASS data to inform planning.
• Use data from assessments and family input to plan lessons and Individualized Education Plans.
• Be present during core hours and adapt to flexible schedules to meet family and team needs.
• Maintain safe, healthy, and organized classrooms; follow emergency procedures and supervision practices.
• Support health care needs, food allergies, medication administration, and authorized releases.
• Record attendance, meals, transportation, and budgets; participate in family engagement activities.
• Attend professional development to meet annual requirements and use NMCAA platforms like Podio, E-3, MiRegistry, GOLD, SharePoint.
