Job summary

Hayward Unified School District is seeking a paraeducator to assist in the care and supervision of infants, preschool, and school-age children in a structured learning environment. You will support planning activities, assist with homework, and help maintain a safe classroom.

Responsibilities include basic clerical tasks, health and safety practices, assisting with meals and nap times, and monitoring student behavior.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of 6+ semester units of ECE or child development for Level I; 12+ units and Associate Teacher Permit for Level II.

Responsibilities

• Assist in care and supervision of infants, preschool, and school-age children.
• Assist with planning and implementing activities to meet children's needs and interests.
• Perform clerical support duties and maintain classroom records.
• Ensure health and safety of students and maintain a clean, orderly learning environment.
• Assist with meals, nap times, and toileting as needed.
• Observe and report student progress and behavior; participate in parent conferences.
