Job Description

The Senior Consultant II (Trial Attorney) represents insureds and the Company in defending bodily injury and property damage lawsuits. The attorney will handle a caseload with assistance and oversight, conducting discovery, representing clients in arbitrations, attending and arguing hearings, and conducting jury trials.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Handle a caseload of litigation files as the lead attorney, developing litigation plans, reviewing evidence, drafting pleadings, and managing discovery.
  2. Conduct alternative dispute resolution processes such as mediations, arbitrations, or settlement negotiations.
  3. Prepare for and attend court and arbitration appearances, depositions, and hearings.
  4. Prepare witnesses and clients for depositions, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trials.
  5. Update claim business partners on case statuses through reports and teleconferences.
  6. Conduct pre-trial work and attend hearings.
  7. Second-chair jury trials with experienced attorneys to gain experience and confidence.
  8. Attempt to try cases to a jury with the support of mentors if needed.
  9. This role does not require billable hours.
Education
  • Juris Doctorate degree required.
  • Must be a licensed member of the State Bar of Nevada, in good standing.
  • Must reside in Nevada to make court appearances as needed.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $66,800 to $120,650 annually, based on experience and qualifications. A background investigation is required for candidates offered this position.
