Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. in Nashville, TN is seeking a Traffic Engineering Associate to contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects that serve communities.

You will prepare traffic studies, assist with signal timing plans, and collaborate with survey, roadway design and environmental teams to deliver safe, efficient transportation solutions. Ideal candidates have a BS in Civil Engineering, up to 4 years of relevant experience, and familiarity with capacity analysis software.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
• 0–4 years of transportation or traffic engineering experience preferred.
• Knowledge of capacity analysis software such as Synchro 12, HCS, SIDRA, etc., preferred.
• Knowledge of Bentley OpenRoads Designer, preferred.
• Engineer in Training certification: preferred for level 1, required for level 2.

Responsibilities

• Prepare traffic studies such as traffic impact studies and corridor analyses.
• Provide intersection and corridor operational analysis.
• Develop and help implement intersection operational improvements.
• Prepare traffic signal and signing/pavement marking designs.
• Develop and help implement signal timing plans.
• Participate in project site visits with other team members.
• Assist with transportation planning studies as needed.
• Review traffic studies to determine appropriate treatments and traffic control.
• Collaborate with survey, roadway design and environmental teams.
