Job summary

Rimkus is seeking an Associate Structural Engineer to support assessments, restoration, rehabilitation, and design for diverse building types across the United States. This entry- to early-career role offers exposure to field investigations, technical report development, and coordination with licensed engineers.

You will work on projects spanning single-family homes to commercial facilities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and gaining hands-on experience from senior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field required.
• 0–3 years of structural engineering experience.
• EIT certification preferred or can obtain within 12 months of employment.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and BIM preferred.
• Strong academic foundation in structural analysis and design.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Ability to obtain future professional engineering licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field investigations, site visits, and condition assessments of existing structures.
• Collect field measurements and assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and documentation.
• Support structural analysis and design efforts for repair, rehabilitation, restoration, and new construction projects.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Research applicable building codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Participate in structural inspections and assessment assignments under licensed engineers' supervision.
• Assist with construction administration activities, including review of submittals, RFIs, and field observations.
• Perform engineering calculations and develop technical solutions for structural deficiencies and repairs.
• Work with project managers, senior engineers, and architects to deliver quality projects.
