Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Civil Engineering Designer to join our Civil team and contribute to transportation projects that positively impact communities. You will work with experienced engineers, build your technical skills, and gain exposure to both office and field work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• EIT certification or pursuing licensure.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate on a team and meet project deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and support both office and field work.

Responsibilities

• Support roadway and transportation projects from initial design through project delivery.
• Collect and analyze data, perform engineering calculations, modeling and design.
• Develop roadway plans, design details, quantities, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate design elements with project teams and assist with drafting and plan development.
• Organize calculations and project documentation according to project standards.
• Participate in field and site visits to gain firsthand project experience.
• Apply applicable codes, standards, and design criteria to project work.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers and project managers while building technical skills.
