Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is seeking a GIS Analyst to join its collaborative team in Los Angeles, CA (near Studio City). The role focuses on data reduction and map creation using Esri ArcGIS to support client deliverables across environmental, site/civil, geotechnical, and transportation projects.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
• 0-2 years of work-related experience.
• Strong understanding of cartographic principles, spatial data concepts, projection systems, data management, digital map production, hard copy presentations, and QA/QC.
• Demonstrated experience with ArcGIS Pro including Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data from many sources and communicate ideas clearly.
• Understanding of ArcGIS for Server and web services; ability to create mobile/web apps with ArcGIS Online.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for data reduction, analysis and map creation.
• Design and maintain project GIS database(s) to organize data.
• Use reports, maps, drawings, and photos to create customized analyses of soil, terrain, hydrology, and geology.
• Review computer generated reports, assess quality, and make revisions.
• Create QA/QC procedures and data products for infrastructure planning.
• Create GIS visuals by interpreting incomplete data and information.
• Run spatial analysis to inform current/future project state.
• Train field staff on ArcGIS Online/Portal and develop solutions.
• Consult with project teams on visualization software selection and data formatting.
• Perform other duties as requested.
