Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. seeks a Senior Staff Geoenvironmental/Geotechnical Engineer for our Florida offices (Tampa, Orlando, Pensacola).

The role applies academic knowledge to real-world projects, including landfill design, permitting for solid waste facilities, site characterization, and geotechnical analyses. Responsibilities cover field investigations, engineering reports, and construction monitoring.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in the environmental industry performing technical or field work; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior internship or work experience in engineering consulting.
• Experience with geotechnical and engineering software such as AutoCAD, HELP, WaterGEMS, and Slide2.
• Regular field work and overnight travel.
• Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.

The position will have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations on projects involving landfill design and construction; permitting and compliance for solid waste facilities; site characterization; earth retaining structures; deep and soft/weak foundations; forensic investigations and litigation support; geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring; numerical analysis of stability and deformation; and geohazard characterization / mitigation, while learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.
