Job summary

Viasat is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for the Secure Network Systems group. You will help develop encrypted communications, interface with diverse engineering teams, and contribute to in-line network encryptor tech and cryptographic devices.

The role emphasizes C/C++, Rust, Linux in embedded contexts, TCP/IP, and Agile processes. It is site-based with relocation assistance possible and requires U.S. citizenship and a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 0–3 years of full-time, relevant industry experience.
• U.S. Citizenship and active SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance.
• Embedded software experience in C/C++ or Rust.
• Linux used for embedded environments; TCP/IP basics.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded software in C/C++ and Rust.
• Work with Linux in embedded environments and kernel drivers.
• Develop networking features (TCP/IP, IPSec, TLS) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with system, test, and hardware engineers on new capabilities.
• Engage in Agile Scrum and multi-disciplinary teamwork.
