Job summary

Owen-Ames-Kimball in Michigan is seeking an Assistant Project Superintendent to support the Project Superintendent in delivering safe, high-quality construction projects. This role offers hands-on field experience while coordinating daily jobsite operations, monitoring progress, and supporting project schedules.

You will work closely with craft workers, subcontractors, project managers, and field leaders to ensure successful project execution and to build the skills needed for a long-term

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and field operations.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with field teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning.
• Experience with construction tech tools (Procore/Bluebeam) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily field operations, workforce needs, sequencing, materials, and equipment.
• Provide guidance to craft workers to promote productivity and clear communication.
• Assist with jobsite logistics, subcontractor coordination, and schedule execution.
• Participate in meetings with subcontractors, owners, architects, and contractors.
• Monitor activities for compliance with drawings and quality standards.
• Review shop drawings and submittals to support field execution.
• Conduct quality walkthroughs and resolve deficiencies.
• Maintain daily reports, logs, and field documentation.
• Support project closeout activities including punch lists and inspections.
• Promote a positive jobsite culture focused on teamwork and safety.
• Assist with safety inspections, hazard identification, and procurement of safety materials.
