Job summary

Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. in Grand Rapids is seeking a Working Superintendent and Lead Foreman to lead a self-perform crew. You will perform skilled carpentry, oversee daily field operations, and ensure safe, high-quality project turnover.

This hands-on leadership role requires 10+ years of carpentry and 3+ years directing crews, with OSHA 30 or the ability to obtain it within 90 days. You will help grow the self-perform division and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications

• Journeyman-level carpentry with 10+ years in commercial construction.
• Experience leading crews as Foreman or Lead Carpenter for 3+ years.
• Skilled in rough and finish carpentry, doors/frames, and Division 10.
• OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute field carpentry work with a crew of 3–6.
• Plan daily/weekly work to keep projects on schedule.
• Order materials and coordinate with project teams.
• Monitor labor productivity and ensure high-quality turnover.
• Maintain safety, organize tool storage, and manage shop/yards.
• Mentor apprentices and develop future foremen.
