Paylocity’s AI Labs is building an early-career engineering team in the Rochester, NY area (Pittsford). You will join a founding team to build real AI-powered features, using frontier AI tools and production data, with mentorship and rapid feedback.

Ideal candidates have a CS/SE background, hands-on coding experience, and a strong interest in AI/LLMs. Hybrid in Rochester, NY, with opportunities to own impactful work early in your career.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on coding experience from coursework, internships, or personal projects.
• Exposure to AI/LLM technologies and frontier AI tools.
• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms; familiarity with modern programming languages.
• Exposure to .NET/C# is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship real features and prototypes across AI Labs' bets with production-relevant data.
• Use frontier AI tools as part of daily development workflow.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, demos, retros.
• Work closely with your manager and teammates to gain depth quickly with feedback.
• Take on increasing ownership and complexity as you demonstrate readiness.
