Job summary

Paylocity's AI Labs is seeking early-career engineers in the Rochester, NY area to join a founding team focused on AI experimentation. You'll work hybrid with a dedicated technical manager, building features across AI bets and shipping production-relevant systems.

You will use frontier AI tools daily, participate in agile ceremonies, and rapidly grow technical depth with ongoing mentorship and increasing ownership as you prove readiness.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on coding experience from coursework, internships, or personal projects.
• Experience with data structures and algorithms; exposure to .NET/C# is a plus.
• Interest in AI/LLM technologies and ability to work in small in-person teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship real features and prototypes across AI Labs' bets using production-relevant systems and data.
• Use frontier AI tools as part of daily development workflow.
• Participate in agile processes including sprint planning, code reviews, demos, retros.
• Collaborate closely with manager and teammates to build technical depth with regular feedback.
• Take on increasing ownership and complexity as readiness grows.
