Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, IL is seeking an EAP Counselor/Therapist to join our Occupational Health Services team. The role provides confidential, professional counseling and employee assistance services to employees facing personal, emotional, behavioral, or work-related concerns.

The ideal candidate offers compassionate, short-term, solution-focused counseling and responds effectively to crisis situations, promoting employee well-being and a psychologically safe workplace.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
• Current, unrestricted independent clinical licensure appropriate to the professional discipline and state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional clinical or behavioral health experience.
• Experience with short-term counseling, crisis intervention, EAP, behavioral health, healthcare, occupational health, or organizational settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide confidential, short-term counseling and clinical assessments.
• Assess employee behavioral health and safety needs and provide appropriate crisis intervention.
• Help employees develop coping, stress management, communication, and problem-solving strategies.
• Provide referrals to appropriate behavioral health, medical, community, financial, legal, and social service resources.
• Support employees and leaders through consultation, education, and wellness programming.
• Participate in critical incident response and employee wellness initiatives.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation.
• Collaborate with Occupational Health, Human Resources, leadership, and community providers while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Maintain compliance with professional licensing requirements, HIPAA, organizational policies, and applicable regulations.
