Job summary

Metra Commuter Rail is seeking a Programmer Analyst 2 to support the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems including Maximo and ServiceMax. You will develop, test, and maintain applications to enhance asset management processes across multiple departments and platforms.

You will write automation scripts, assist with system implementations, and produce reports while ensuring data security and system reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent IT experience (4 years) in application development or systems administration.
• Three years of experience with Swift, XML, Python, Jython, Java or JavaScript or other programming and scripting languages in iOS or Windows environments; and system integrations.
• Knowledge of methods to install, troubleshoot, upgrade applications and resolve errors.
• Working knowledge of relational databases and EAM systems.
• Working knowledge of programming/scripting languages (Python, Jython, JavaScript, Swift, SQL, Java, HTML/XML) for user interfaces.
• Familiar with REST and API integrations and digital resources for system integrations.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication, data management, analytical and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams and manage shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications to add system functionality to assigned EAM based on user needs.
• Write complex automation scripts and manage approvals for operating systems.
• Create and manage reports across platforms.
• Participate in projects to map and integrate business processes; ensure EAM applications meet requirements.
• Assist with system implementations, support and maintenance; ensure data security and integrity.
