Job summary

Eaglecrest Ski Area is seeking a reliable Laborer to join the maintenance team for the summer season. The role involves outdoor manual work, operating basic equipment, and assisting snowmaking and lift operations as needed.

Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm, at the Eaglecrest Maintenance shop in Juneau, Alaska. Candidates should be at least 18 years old, able to work outdoors year-round in all weather, and possess a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Not less than 18 years of age.
• Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, overtime; outdoor work year round in all weather conditions; physically capable of heavy lifting and lengthy standing/sitting; operate assigned equipment and vehicles.
• Valid Driver’s license at time of appointment and for continued employment.

• Operate front-end loader, grader, pickup truck/sander, and snow cats to keep the Eaglecrest parking lot, maintenance shop yard, and surrounding areas clear of snow and safe for use.

We are seeking an interested person to come join our team and fill our Eaglecrest Laborer position.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for hard-working individuals that are not afraid of manual labor and enjoy working in the outdoors in all weather conditions. Experience operating chainsaws, brush cutters and heavy machinery is a plus but not mandatory. The most important skills are being reliable, on time and bringing a positive attitude to the workplace.

WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION

This position works Monday through Friday 7:00am -3:00pm. Your office will be located at the Eaglecrest Maintenance shop at 3000 Fish Creek Road

Typical Responsibilities

Under immediate supervision of the Director of Mountain Operations, this position occasionally operates a front-end loader, grader, pickup truck/sander, and snow cats to ensure that the Eaglecrest parking lot, maintenance shop yard, and surrounding areas are clear of snow and safe for vehicle and pedestrian use. In addition to maintaining access and safety, this role directly supports snowmaking efforts and lift operations by ensuring reliable transportation routes, equipment access, and timely snow removal across operational areas.

• Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, scheduled and emergency overtime, and be available for required on-call duty; performing work outdoors, year round, in all weather conditions; maintaining physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include heavy lifting, walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time and operating assigned equipment and vehicles; and working under conditions that provide high exposure to the public.
