Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. The Scrap Crane Operator safely operates the scrap crane to load and track scrap, maintaining consistent mix standards while coordinating with the melt shop team. Teammates must be willing to cross-train in other positions within the department and fill in as needed to support operational needs.

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Ability to withstand working conditions with elevated temperatures.
• Ability to lift moderate to heavy weight (50 lbs.)
