Qualifications

  • Experience with remote, inside, digital, or internet-based sales is preferred.
  • Experience using CRM, sales quoting system, inventory system, or similar sales technology is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

This position responds to customer inquiries, identifies equipment needs, presents options, prepares quotes, and supports trade evaluations, financing, transportation, and delivery. This role requires timely communication, consistent follow-up, accurate documentation, and strong product knowledge. The E-Sales Professional also coordinates with customers and dealership teams to provide a clear and consistent sales experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Respond promptly and professionally to equipment leads and customer inquiries received through digital, phone, email, chat, social media, and other channels.
  • Contact new leads within established company response-time expectations.
  • Identify customer needs, including equipment application, budget, purchasing timeline, location, and trade-in requirements.
  • Recommend equipment options based on customer needs and available inventory.
  • Provide accurate information about equipment specifications, availability, condition, pricing, financing options, and estimated transportation costs.

  • Conduct outbound prospecting to develop additional equipment sales opportunities.
  • Build relationships with customers outside traditional dealership territory boundaries while following established customer ownership and Area of Responsibility guidelines.
  • Enter and maintain accurate customer information, lead activity, quotes, follow-up notes, trade information, and sales opportunities in the company's CRM and quoting systems.
  • Maintain accurate sales pipeline information, including customer status and expected closing dates.
  • Gather complete information about trade-in equipment, including specifications, hours, condition, attachments, photographs, payoff information, and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate with sales managers, territory sales representatives, dealership personnel, finance, transportation, and other appropriate teams throughout the sales process.
  • Work with dealership locations to confirm equipment availability, condition, loading requirements, and delivery readiness.
  • Assist customers with financing applications, required documentation, electronic signatures, payment arrangements, and other steps needed to complete a sale.
  • Communicate clearly with customers about invoicing, transportation, loading charges, delivery timing, and equipment pickup.
  • Promote available inventory and support the sale of aged or strategically important used equipment.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of John Deere equipment, other agricultural and construction equipment, lawn and garden products, and competitive products represented in used inventory.
  • Explain equipment features, applications, benefits, and differences in a clear and accurate manner.
  • Participate in product training, sales meetings, coaching, and other professional development activities.
  • Follow established sales processes, pricing guidelines, documentation requirements, and customer service procedures.
  • Represent Heritage Tractor professionally and provide a consistent customer experience across communication channels.
  • Perform other related duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position.
QualificationsExperience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in sales, customer service, equipment, agriculture, construction, automotive, retail, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Previous experience selling agricultural, construction, lawn and garden, automotive, or other equipment is preferred.
  • Experience with John Deere products or other agricultural or construction equipment is preferred.
  • Experience using a CRM, sales quoting system, inventory system, or similar sales technology is preferred.
  • Experience with remote, inside, digital, or internet-based sales is preferred.
  • Experience evaluating or documenting used equipment and trade-ins is preferred.
  • Familiarity with equipment financing and transportation processes is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively by phone, email, text, and digital messaging.
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships through remote and digital communication.
  • Ability to ask effective questions and understand customer needs, applications, and purchasing considerations.
  • Ability to explain equipment information in a clear, accurate, and customer-focused manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple customer inquiries and sales opportunities while maintaining timely follow-up.
  • Strong organization, time-management, follow-up, and lead-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing customer needs and sales opportunities.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn CRM, quoting, inventory, financing, and other business systems.
  • Ability to use technology to communicate with customers, manage sales opportunities, prepare quotes, and access equipment information.
  • Strong attention to detail when preparing quotes, documenting customer and trade information, and completing sales documentation.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers and employees across multiple dealership locations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with sales, dealership, finance, transportation, and other internal teams.
  • Ability to follow established pricing, sales, documentation, and customer service procedures.
  • Ability to identify problems, seek appropriate information, and coordinate solutions for customers.
  • Ability to learn equipment specifications, applications, values, and condition through training and experience.

  • Valid driver's license if required for the position's business-related driving responsibilities.
