Angove Partners is partnering with an award-winning insurance broker, seeking an Surplus Lines Analyst in New York. This is an exciting opportunity for insurance professionals with experience in Surplus Lines.
What is the role?
As a member of the team the E&S Analyst will handle a variety of workstreams in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. The role will be very hands-on and provide in-depth exposure to Surplus Lines Insurance. This role is based in NYC.
What will you be doing?
- Regulatory Compliance & Filings – Ensure all surplus lines placements comply with state surplus lines laws and regulations; prepare, file, and track affidavits, taxes, and policy documentation for each jurisdiction.
- Premium Tax Management – Calculate, reconcile, and remit surplus lines taxes, stamping fees, and other regulatory charges accurately and on time.
- Policy Documentation & Recordkeeping – Review and maintain complete and compliant records for each transaction, including binders, policies, endorsements, and placement evidence.
- Coordination with Underwriters & Brokers – Collaborate with deal teams to obtain required documentation from insurers and clients, ensuring that all filings reflect accurate deal terms and are submitted promptly.
- Audit & Reporting Support – Assist in preparing internal and external audit materials, regulatory reports, and management summaries related to surplus lines placements and compliance status.
What do you need to apply to this role?
We anticipate that candidates will have at least 1-3 years of Surplus line insurance experience.
